Reverend Father Boi, Manao Temple

Luang Pho Boi of Wat Manao is a famous monk of Suphan Buri Province. He is respected for both his Buddhist magic and his complete moral conduct, truly befitting a monk who lives for Buddhism. Luang Pho Boi was born in Ban Sam Muen, Tambon Bang Pla Ma, Amphoe Bang Pla Ma, Suphan Buri Province, in 1891. He showed a keen interest in Buddhism since childhood. He liked going to the temple, listening to sermons and helping with various tasks in the temple. He traveled to Bangkok. And further studied the Dharma and Vinaya at Wat Chee Phakhao or Wat Si Sudaram, Thonburi Province at that time, and Vipassana and Samatha meditation at Wat Ammarin Khositaram. In addition, he became a disciple of Luang Por Pan at Wat Bang Nom Kho for 1 year before returning to reside at Wat Manao around the year 2467. Luang Por Boi was a modest and solitary monk. He woke up at 4 am every day, chanted until dawn, and then went on alms round. When he returned to the temple, he would ask every monk at the temple to stand in line, and he would scoop rice from his alms bowl and put it in every monk's bowl like this every day. He was a monk who truly practiced Buddhism for the religion, and was humble. There were no facilities in his kuti. When Wat Manao was without an abbot, he did not accept the position.
