Basic Information - Location: Xichahe Village, Dahe Township, Sunan Yugur Autonomous County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province. - Opening hours: 8:30-16:30 all year round. - Ticket price: Adult tickets for non-Gansu provinces are 128 yuan when booked online, and 88 yuan when booked online for adults in Gansu provinces; ticket plus transportation within the park is 198 yuan when booked online for adults for non-Gansu provinces, and 158 yuan when booked online for adults in Gansu provinces. Transportation - Self-driving: Starting from Zhangye City, drive 89 kilometers along the G30 Expressway towards Jiuquan, get off the expressway at Wutongquan Exit, drive 16 kilometers west to Yuanshanzi, then drive 10 kilometers south along Township Road 373 to Xinba Town, Gaotai County, and finally drive 20 kilometers southeast to Xichahe Village, Dahe Township, Sunan County, and arrive at the Tourist Center. The whole journey takes about 2 hours. You can also start from Zhangye City, drive along the Zhangsu Highway to Sunan County, then drive west along the Yuanbai Highway to the Dahe Township Government of Sunan County, and then drive south for 16 kilometers to Xichahe Village. - Chartering a car: As the scenic area is remote and the road conditions are complicated, chartering a car is a good choice. You can ask the driver to help plan the route. Recommended attractions - Bailanghe No. 21 Glacier: On the west side of the main peak, it looks like a half-moon hanging in the sky from a distance, and lies diagonally in the valley between the mountains from a close distance, with towering ice walls and deep cirques. - Luming Peak: One of the viewing points on the snow mountain hiking route, it has a wide view and offers magnificent views of the snow-capped mountains and surrounding grasslands. - Balanghai: A high mountain lake with clear water, it is as beautiful as a painting against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. The surrounding meadows are lush and small animals such as marmots often appear. Accommodation suggestions - Bals Mountain Hotel: Located in the scenic area, some rooms have a direct view of the Bals Holy Mountain. You can enjoy the beauty of the snow-capped mountains while lying in bed, which is a unique experience. - Hotels in Zhangye City: There are various accommodation options with a wide price range, and you can choose according to your budget. If you want to save costs, you can choose a hotel in the city and go to the scenic spot the next day. Tour route - One-day tour: Depart for the scenic area in the morning, take the scenic shuttle bus to the core scenic area, see the Bailang River No. 21 Glacier, Bars Peak and other landscapes, take photos and check in at the observation deck, and return in the afternoon. - Two-day tour: Enter the park before noon on the first day, take the scenic shuttle bus to the core scenic area, hike to Shenlu Lake, Balang Lake and other scenic spots, enjoy the sunset over the Golden Mountain in the evening, and stay overnight in the scenic area wooden house; get up early on the second day to watch the sunrise and experience the golden mountain in the sun, then continue hiking or rest at the viewing platform and return in the afternoon. Precautions - Bring your Mainland China ID card or other valid ID to purchase tickets. - The scenic area is at a high altitude and you may experience altitude sickness.
