Don Don Monjayaki at Sukhumvit 39

Monjayaki, also known as Monja, is located in Sukhumvit Soi 39, a bit deep inside with limited parking. If you're traveling by train, get off at BTS Phrom Phong and walk. Monjayaki is served in a hot pan, similar to Okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza), but the batter is thinner than that of Japanese pizza. It's fun to fan and eat it yourself, like playing with food when you were a kid. You get to scrape it into thin, crispy pieces to enjoy the aroma from the pan. It's not filling, but it's a lot of fun and very enjoyable. There are many toppings to choose from, such as squid, shrimp, mentaiko fish roe, cheese, and mochi. Additionally, they make their own fresh Udon noodles here, which are perfectly chewy. Having it as a set with mixed tempura is very delicious. Another recommended dish is the cold tofu, fried to a perfect crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, topped with a well-rounded flavored soup.
