[Those Forgotten Times: The Glorious Buddha] Sukhothai, the first dynasty of Thailand, was located in central Thailand and ruled for nearly 200 years. It was replaced by the Ayutthaya Kingdom, which we visited earlier. Sukhothai is the cradle of Thai culture. It was during the Sukhothai period that Buddhism was introduced to Thailand from India and Ceylon, making Thailand the most famous Buddhist country in the world today. The historical park is not large, with ruins of various sizes scattered throughout the park. You can ride a bicycle and slowly appreciate the Sukhothai-style pagodas and statues, including the unique "Walking Buddha" that is rarely seen elsewhere. Finally, return to the largest group of ruins in the park, Wat Mahathat, to watch a perfect sunset and reflect on life once again. 📝Tips: 1. The entrance fee for Sukhothai Historical Park is THB 100, and you can enter and exit multiple times in one day. 2. We recommend Wat Si Chum and Wat Phra Phai Luang to the north, and Wat Chang Lom to the east. 3. The weather in late January is very nice and not hot, and you can reach all the sites by bicycle.
