Travel to Sukhothai: Relive History with UNESCO Award

Learn History through the Sukhothai Historical Park Tour Sukhothai Historical Park, located in Sukhothai Province, is another World Heritage site registered by UNESCO in 1991. It was the center of the ancient Sukhothai Kingdom. This park boasts both the beauty of ancient ruins and historical significance that reflects the early stages of Thai civilization. Start your journey at Wat Mahathat, a large temple in the city center that once served as a religious hub. It features a unique lotus-bud-shaped stupa and a magnificent large Buddha statue. Continue to Wat Si Sawai, a temple with Khmer-style stupas, reflecting the relationship between Sukhothai and Khmer culture. Next, visit Wat Si Chum, home to the famous “Phra Achana,” a large seated Buddha statue exuding grandeur. This is another highlight where visitors must stop for photos. Additionally, you can explore the old city walls and ancient city gates, which still retain their beauty and the essence of past glory. This route not only allows you to learn about history but also to experience the beauty of ancient sites and Thai culture!

Sukhothai Historical Park

Wat Chang Lom Wat Chang Lom (Sukhothai Historical Park) is a temple outside the city walls on the east side, Tambon Mueang Kao, Amphoe Mueang Sukhothai, Sukhothai Province. It has a history of being built to dedicate to King Maha Thammaracha I around the 20th century. The highlight is the Sri Lankan-style pagoda or inverted bell, surrounded by elephants, similar to the Wat Sorasak pagoda (with a single-tiered elephant surround) and another Wat Chang Lom pagoda in Si Satchanalai Historical Park, but different in that it has a two-tiered elephant-surrounded base, in a relatively complete condition. The base is surrounded by 32 elephants and has a brick wall base. #VisitHistoricalSites #Mr.Tourism
