Bled Island

Bled Island is the only natural island in Slovenia, located in the middle of Lake Bled. It is famous for its picturesque scenery, historic Church of the Assumption, and the traditional Pletna boat rides that transport visitors across the lake. The island has a long history, with archaeological evidence suggesting it was a sacred site even before the current church was built. One of the most iconic experiences on Bled Island is ringing the "wishing bell" inside the church, which, according to legend, grants wishes. The island is also closely linked to the medieval Bled Castle, which overlooks the lake from a nearby cliff.
