A beautiful church on the Mediterranean Coast

The Church of Sant Bartomeu & Santa Tecla is a 17th-century church located in the heart of Sitges, a coastal town in Catalonia, Spain. The church is situated on a hill that dominates the coast and town, offering a stunning view of the Mediterranean sea. The construction of the church began in 1665 and was completed in 1672. The church has undergone several renovations and additions over the years, including the addition of bells and watchtower in 1868. The church contains several altarpieces, including the ‘Center of the Renaissance’ altarpiece of St. Bartholomew and Santa Tecla, designed by the Neapolitan painter Nicolás de Credença. The church also contains two Gothic tombs dated 1317 and 1322, located under the choir. The church’s architecture is a blend of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. #christmastrip
