This magnificent 7th century Catholic cathedral was built on the ruins of an ancient temple dedicated to Minerva in the 5th century BC. After an earthquake destroyed part of the Norman facade, it was rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 18th century. This history is related to the fact that the impression is quite different inside and outside the cathedral. It is incredibly beautiful.
