Singapore’s last mainland village

Take a trip down memory lane at Singapore’s last kampung (village). Located along Lorong Buangkok, it is just off Gerald Drive, can drive in from Yio Chu Kang Road. See the Esso and turn in to Gerald drive, near the Esso station. Unpaved roads, zinc housing, puddles of water everywhere after it rains, lots of different plants and animals, fresh air. The kampong checks all the above boxes. This is a good place to reminisce about the past or to bring your little one to show them how life was like in the past, without having to go to Pulau Ubin. The kampong is technically not open to strangers so be mindful and tactful when taking photos. Do not be too intrusive and smile widely and brightly to the villages. #mustvisit
