Taste of Taiwan at Isshin Machi!

Can’t travel to Taiwan? You can temporarily satisfy that Taiwanese food craving here in Singapore at Isshin Machi! 😊 They have 3 outlets located at East Coast, Dhoby Ghaut and Holland Village - the latter which is the newest and the one that I visited. I ordered a classic and familiar Taiwanese pairing: a bowl of Braised Meat Rice (Lu Rou Fan) and a glass of Assam Milk Tea. The Hakka-Style Braised Meat Rice ($9++) came in a small bowl, but it left me quite filled! A generous portion of braised pork is scooped onto the rice, with the flavourful sauce drenching the rice underneath 😋 The braised pork had more lean than fatty meat, so it is definitely a healthier protein-packed bowl compared to its counterparts. It is topped with a whole braised egg that was well marinated, as well as crunchy mini cucumber slices and pickled vegetables to balance out the stronger flavours 😊 The Assam Milk Tea ($3.20++) was a refreshing glass of milk tea! You cannot choose your sugar level, but I found the default one of the right sweetness 🧋 The milk tea also comes in Pistachio and Macademia flavours, but sadly they were out of stock during my visit.
