The Oasia Hotel, designed by WOHA, stands tall in Singapore's bustling central business district, setting a new standard for the intensive use of land in tropical cities. Unlike the closed skyscrapers in the temperate western countries, which are characterized by transparent glass curtain walls, this tower in the hot region is full of vitality and provides a new idea for the design of skyscrapers. The building is divided into several sections with exclusive sky gardens to echo its three distinct functions of office, hotel and club. Despite being located in the heart of the city with a high density, these open "ground" spaces interspersed at different heights still bring countless possibilities for leisure and entertainment and social interaction for users. The incised outdoor space creates a vibrant and changing exclusive landscape inside the building, so that the building surrounded by high-rise buildings does not need to rely too much on the visual landscape effect brought by the external urban environment. The sky garden is an open terrace in the city, with layers of cascading, shading the lower space, and the huge openings next to each other make the building inside and outside visually and spatially integrated. The breeze blows through the opening and gently strokes the interior space, bringing flowing fresh air, and the vibrant greenery bathes in the sun. The efficient, comfortable and tropical public space replaces the usual closed and heavily air-conditioned indoor space. Whether it is indoor or outdoor space, the use of landscape has been further expanded and has become an indispensable part of facade building materials. The overall green volume rate of the building is as high as 1100%, and it has become a paradise for birds and wildlife to inhabit and multiply, bringing ecological diversity back to the center of the city, and at the same time effectively making up for the embarrassment of no green space in the small area composed of 10 surrounding buildings. Under the reflection of the bright red aluminum metal mesh, 21 kinds of climbing plants are green and dripping, and colorful flowers and fruits are mixed in it, providing abundant food for birds and insects. In the future, these plants will occupy the most suitable space for their growth according to light, concealment and wind conditions, and gradually form a mosaic-like facade effect with different colors and textures. The roof space also continues WOHA's unique design technique, full of greenery, vitality and diversity. The swimming pools on the 21st and 27th floors use the Chroma series of AGROB BUCHTAL tiles. Each swimming pool in the hotel has its own characteristics. The swimming pool on the 6th floor is part of the gym; the swimming pool on the 21st floor is an extension of the leisure club. The herringbone pattern at the bottom of the swimming pool is paved with light blue and dark blue tiles. On both sides are shallow pools. Guests can enjoy the coolness of the pool while tasting cocktails. The rooftop swimming pool is divided into two parts, located on both sides of the rooftop restaurant. Unlike most hotel rooftops that focus on viewing, here, the city skyline is almost completely hidden behind the plant barrier, highlighting WOHA's unusual design concept.
