Bar Stories

Bar Stories is a speakeasy style bar which appears at first to be up a set of stairs above a restaurant, but in fact the Habibi-san restaurant *is* the bar. There's seating and a bar at the top of the stairs inside a quaint shop house, but it joins next door and you can go back downstairs for the kitchen and more seating. The experience is really about the cocktails and the "gimmick" is that there's no actual menu. You tell the barman (who comes to your table separate to the server) what you feel like and he'll construct something around your preferences. If you go all-in and trust the staff it can be a lot of fun. I'm not sure it would be worthwhile if you just wanted a G&T, but there are plenty of other options in the area for that. Try this out if you want to treat yourself to interesting cocktails or you just want a special occasion.
