🚶🏻 MacRitchie Nature Trail 🌳 🇸🇬

#singapore 4-5 kilometers on foot with my 80-year-old father along what is known as the “boys’ path”. Facing the canteen area and the toilet from the parking lot, turn left and you’ll see the band’s parking lot that looks like a maze on the lake. The bridge zigzags through the water and this is the most famous with older Singaporeans who ran “across the country” when they were connecting young men and women. On the other side of here, the top of the hill is the tomb of the local war hero Lim Bo Singh. He died too young under betrayal and ambush. His descendants are still between us and one is a high-ranking military man who plays water polo. In addition to the easy-to-find path along the water edge, the walk begins. Note that if you’re walking in the morning, it’s best to walk along a very stable walking platform on the edge of the water because the sun will be on your back and you may enjoy dragon flies, fish, observe lizers and with luck, you may even discover the rays of a dodgy freshwater bite. Simple seats about 200-300 meters on this platform to admire the tank and pick up a break from walking, admiring the place, or simply having a quiet conversation. At the end of this walk, you can either return to the jungle path or return in the same way along the platform. The jungle path will provide more cold walking and more diluted sound but is not recommended if it has rained the day before nor during the monsoon season. Walking wasn’t a problem for my old dad and we had a great time chatting in this “Controlled natural walking.” Nothing is too extreme.
