[Siem Reap, Cambodia] World Heritage Site Ta Prohm Encroached on by Giant Trees

A 10-minute tuk-tuk ride east from Angkor Thom brings you to Ta Prohm, a World Heritage site where the ruins have been eroded by giant banyan trees. There are two famous routes to the Angkor ruins: a short route and a long route. This time I took the short route, which took me to about eight ruins, but the ruins I remember (that are distinctive) are Angkor Wat → Angkor Thom, which I've already mentioned, and Ta Prohm. When I try to go around efficiently, I end up looking at them all the same, due to my lack of study. Ta Prohm is eroded everywhere by giant trees, and although it looks like it's about to collapse, I feel the amazing vitality of nature that engulfs the ruins. There are giant trees everywhere, but they all become a photography contest, which is a bit of a letdown, and my photos only captured the less popular smaller banyan trees. #Cambodia #SiemReap #AmazingView #Ruins
