| Banteay Srei. Banteay Srei is located in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, about 25 km from Angkor Thom. It is one of the three great temples of Cambodia and is known as the "Jewel of Angkor." Built in 967 during the reign of Rajendravarman and completed in 1002 during the reign of Jayavarman V, it faces east and is 200 meters long and 100 meters wide, with a main area of about 500 square meters. The entire structure is carved from red sandstone. Banteay Srei is known for its neat layout, unique shape, bright colors, and exquisite reliefs. All the outer walls are covered with reliefs, with delicate carving, slender lines, and complex shapes, earning it the title of "Gem of Angkor Art." Its center is three parallel tower-shaped shrines and symmetrical side halls, dedicated to Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu. The doors of the shrines are only 1.2 meters high, so worshippers must bend down to enter. Banteay Srei was the first building to be successfully restored using the "anastylosis" method, which is of great significance to the restoration of other Angkor monuments.
