#getgoing2025 Nakayama Senmaida is a majestic terraced rice field selected as one of the "100 best terraced rice fields in Japan". About 800 rice fields are gradually lined up on a slope at an altitude of about 200 metres. In early May, after the rice planting takes place, green carpets will spread throughout the surrounding area, and you will be captivated by the superb scenery. In July, an insect-feeding event is held to pay for pests and wish for a good harvest, and the scenery of people walking in a line with torches is fantastic. In addition, rice harvesting is held in September, and rural kabuki is held at the nearby Kasuga Shrine in early October, and there are different fun for each season. Nakayama Senmaida has adopted a terraced rice field owner system, so if you participate, you can experience rice planting and rice harvesting. The clear air and quiet time that you can't taste in the city will heal your tired heart.
