Guniujiang - Highly recommended for autumn camping!

Guniujiang is located in Shitai County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. The entire hiking route is 23 km long. We recommend a two-day, one-night trip. On November 2–3, my two teammates and I completed the entire route. Here is a summary of the transportation, campsites, road conditions, and scenic spots. Transportation: We recommend driving, as transportation is inconvenient in the mountains and the start and end points are together. It takes just over two hours to drive from Chizhou Station to the starting point. If you don't drive, you can take a high-speed train to Chizhou Station and then charter a car to the starting point at Wangshan Homestay in Shitai. Be sure to book a return driver in advance, as it is difficult to call a car in the mountains. Campsite: We recommend camping below the mountain top. The first day's journey is 6 km, with a total ascent of 1,200 m. The campsite is a large, flat grassland. The water source is 100 m from the campsite in the direction of the mountain top. Road conditions: The road is clear on the first day. On the second day, you will descend along a wild road to the scenic area, descend the steps to the bottom of the valley, and then climb again. Pay attention to the last section. The road is very unclear when passing through the tea garden, and there are many large stones. You can move forward without following the track. You can ask the locals who pick tea leaves for directions. Scenic spots: The section at the top of the mountain is very beautiful, especially the location of the first picture. It is on a ridge with excellent scenery all around. You can even see Huangshan 100 km away due to the high visibility. You can play in the water at the bottom of the valley. The pool is clear and green, and very beautiful. Highly recommended. Note: After entering the scenic area, if you encounter scenic area staff, they may ask you to pay an additional ticket fee of CNY 100, but we did not encounter this. Finally, plan your time reasonably. The first day is short with a lot of climbing, 6 km with an ascent of 1,200 m. The second day is 18 km with an ascent of 500 m. Arrange your departure time reasonably on the second day according to your speed.
