Shiping Ancient City

Shiping County is located in the southern part of Yunnan Province, in the northwest of Honghe Prefecture. It is 240 kilometers from Kunming, about a 3-hour drive; and 120 kilometers from the prefecture capital Mengzi. The Jishi and Shiyuan highways run through the entire county, connecting with the Tongjian, Yuyuan, and Kunyu highways. The Yunnan-Vietnam Railway goes directly to the ancient city, taking 30 minutes to Jianshui, 2 hours to Yuanyang Hani Terraces, and 4 hours to Hekou National Port. The ancient city still retains historical relics such as the moat, city gates, stone roads, wooden houses, wells, ancient government offices, Confucian temple, martial temple, academies, and pavilions. All attractions in the ancient city are free of charge, with no entrance fees. Items in the supermarkets are reasonably priced, making it very friendly to tourists.
