#tokyotrip A once in a lifetime experience. We had a blast doing the photoshoot in our Kimonos and loved the experience! It was the highlight of the trip! We walked around in Shibuya and the photographer took our pictures along the street. It really made us felt like a real Japanese woman. The whole walkabout and photo taking is fun and so memorable for both myself and my girl. This is highly recommended, must-do activity in Tokyo! You don’t have to worry about not having your own kimono or not knowing how to wear one, as there are heaps of kimono rental shops in Tokyo that are happy to offer a hassle-free kimono-wearing experience to tourists.

Shibuya

It was Friday night and Shibuya is so vibrant. From the Shibuya crossing where you can see hundreds of people crossing at the same time, taking videos, performing stunts for recordings. To thousands of people walking along the streets. There are various crowds also waiting to dine in restaurants and entering the pub/clubs. It feels good to be back here. Will surely visit in future again.

Tokyo’s IKEA Ice Cream 🍦

When I first shared with my friend who’s a tour guide in Japan before covid that there’s Ikea in Tokyo, he went like: “what?” And then I found out that IKEA only opened in the recent years between 2020-2021 onwards where they took over the vacant shops from Forever 21! But guess what? They are coming back sooooon! It plans to open stores in shopping centers in Tokyo, Osaka and their vicinities in this coming Spring! 🤭 Not sure if any of you would be excited for it but here’s a photo of me enjoying my half eaten Plant Based Soft Ice Cream 🍦 in Pear 🍐 Flavour from IKEA Tokyo! At only 50 yen ($0.47) it’s super cheap and can I say I’m so amazed by fruit flavoured ice creams in Japan?! #celebratewithtrip This particular One piece Straw Hat Store is located at Shibuya. This store is very easy access as it just a road across to the JR Shibuya Station. The store itself is huge with many memorabilia on sales which One Piece fan can purchase . If you are a fan of One Piece, making a stop to the One Piece store is highly recommended for your trip to Tokyo.

Mega Don Quijote In Shibuya

#celebratewithtrip Don Quijote as I believe mostly Singaporean will know as there are many outlet in Singapore . But this Don Quijote is by far the largest I even seen even compare with other Don Quijote in Japan This particular store have 7 floors and 2 basements Everything there is very cheap and affordable. For tourist there is a special checkout counter at level 7 . And it open 24 hours

Outdoor Observation Deck

Go up to this Shibuya Sky especially during sunsets hour which is 230 metres high and an open observation outdoor deck. You will get the best 360 degrees view and many opportunities for beautiful photos. You will also ride on the highest escalator at Shibuya Sky. There are plenty of seats around and you can also sit on their hammocks and clouds watching. I will suggest taking time-lapse videos for the best effects. A two-story Gindaco Highball tavern located on Dogenzaka. I wonder when it was established? The first floor has a few table seats and counter seats. The restroom is on the second floor. I was happy to find that there were chairs, even though I thought it would be standing only. They offer takoyaki in sizes starting from four pieces, which is the perfect size for a snack with alcohol. Besides takoyaki, the yakisoba also seemed popular. Electric nighttime Sakura in Shibuya!

Before my recent trip to Tokyo, I had envisioned Sakura season to involve long afternoons under cherry blossoms in the sun. Whilst we certainly had a couple of those, I was unexpectedly perhaps more enamoured with the sight of the cherry blossoms at nighttime, when the their soft natural beauty contrasts starkly with the vibrant, oversaturated lights that emanate from billboards and shops in the city centre. #cherryblossom2024

Shibuya Blue Cave illumination & Xmas Market🇯🇵

#thingstodo When visiting Tokyo in winter during the seasonal holidays, highly recommend checking out the Blue Cave Illumination and Christmas Market in Shibuya Tokyo. Held annually at Yoyogi Park, the "Ao no Dokutsu SHIBUYA" illumination event offers a fantastical Shibuya immersed in deep blue. It is really magical and definitely worth a visit! My rating: 4 ⭐️ out of 5!

Banksy Exhibition GMO Museum, Shibuya

#thingstodo I didn't plan to go here during my trip, but I'm glad I did, it was actually fun (and educational). The whole experience is 20 minutes long, and limited to 6 people (I recommend you buy tickets ahead of time). The first 10 minutes or so is a presentation that uses the whole room and gives the history of Banksy, and the latter part is the opportunity to see a few of his artwork on display and be able to take pictures of it.

Shibuya Christmas Market

Amazing lights and great food. Much better in my opinion than the Tokyo Christmas market 2023. No tickets required, just great food, ambience. Would love to come back every year . Its really beautiful during the illumination season. You won’t be able to miss it! And the traffic was well organised! It was fun and Nice to see all the happy people. This is also the stretch that has the flea markets before the light up. In 2024 I wish to visit this place again. #2024wish
