2024 Shibuya Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in October)
Shibuya ~ The Most Iconic Place in Tokyo?! 🇯🇵
Shibuya might be one of the most iconic places to visit in Tokyo. Save this guide for your next visit to Japan! 🇯🇵
📍 Shibuya Scramble Square, also known as Shibuya Crossing. The iconic massive street crossing, is so crazy to see in real life. It’s right outside Shibuya Station so you can’t miss it! Remember to check it out at night to see all the lights too!
📍 Shibuya Hikarie Sky Lobby ~ there are many options to see Shibuya crossing from above, but some require tickets, reservations or queueing. Avoid all of this by going to the 11th floor Sky Lobby! It’s a bit further away from Magnet or the Starbucks, but it gives an amazing view.
📍 Nintendo Flagship Store at Parco. In fact, there are so many cool stores at Parco. Nintendo just happens to be extra special and has so much incredible merchandise!
📍 Hachiko Statue ~ honouring the most loyal dog in Japan, who waited for his owner to come back for nine years. It can get pretty crowded here and people will line up for a photo.
📍 Miyashita Park was previously a public park but has been transformed into a three storey mall with vibey shops, restaurants and cafes. On the rooftop you can find a starbucks and skate park. It’s a nice place to hang out!

Exploring Tokyo's Vibrant Shibuya District
Tokyo's premier entertainment district . I visited Shibuya, Tokyo's top entertainment district, and there was a wide variety of sights to see, food to eat, and things to enjoy in Shibuya!! Let me introduce you to a few places worth visiting in Shibuya 😆
🎈 Scramble Crossing
A famous spot often featured in animations like 'Jujutsu Kaisen' and 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time'! It's a place where you can see the unique sight of hundreds of people crossing the pedestrian crossing at once.
🎈 Shibuya Yokocho
Located under Shibuya Miyashita Park, this alley has the feel of a Japanese pub street where you can experience the atmosphere of Japan's izakaya streets. The Google reviews here are not great, so I recommend just taking pictures :)
🎈 Miyashita Park
A complex shopping mall park located right next to Shibuya Station. There's a very large park on the rooftop, and there's even a statue of Doraemon's 'Anywhere Door'! It's a great spot in Shibuya for a walk.
🎈 Pokémon Center
An animation shop that you absolutely can't miss in Shibuya. The Pokémon Center has an interior like a laboratory from the anime, making it an even more realistic Pokémon shop.
🎈 Jump Shop
A large animation shop selling goods from various animations. You can find souvenirs from classic animations like 'One Piece', 'Haikyuu', and 'Dragon Ball', as well as currently airing animations.
Harlow ICE CREAM Cafe
How long has it been since I've been here?
At Harlow ICE CREAM in Hiroo for the first time in a while🍨
This day it was really too hot I was asking for ice cream 🥵 (everyday)
A little different from the past but full of decor in the store
Space and ice cream sure are cute🌻👟
Very rich and rich ice cream
The cookie dough corn was fragrant and I really liked it.
Drinks include coffee and oat milk lattes.
Try strawberry & raspberry and Madagascar vanilla
Both were very delicious.
The berries are mixed with something like sorbet and have a nice texture.
Madagascar vanilla is the most delicious classic flavor.
It's a long walk from the station but after walking hard
Ice cream eaten in a restaurant with air conditioning.

Wonderful coffee with fantastic service. Really enjoyed sitting and drinking my coffee and having a chat with one of the owners. If you’re in Shibuya City - stop by and have a coffee here.
The store location is about a 10 minute walk from the station. It's in a quiet location where many houses are gathered
Atmosphere so calm that you can't even imagine
It was so easy to spend 🍃
Pumpkin Pound Cake and chocolate cookies too
It's very delicious
Because cafe latte is also less spicy

What’s going on in Shibuya
Shibuya is a major hub in Tokyo City! Watching the Shibuya scramble from above is always interesting. After you’ve safely crossed the road, make sure you say hello to the good boy Hachiko.
Blue Bottle Cafe
Charming coffee shop located in a rather quiet part of Shibuya. their coffee always tastes great for me! i ordered the autumn seasonal, which is black cardamom latte. it has a hint of spice in it, truly an enjoyable autumn drink.
the location is not close to the station but you can enjoy the nice neighborhood while you walk. we can drink our coffee outside in the park. wish i tried going to the 2nd floor though as i read the view is much nicer!
Architectural delight, blending right in the scene,
Outdoor seating 'mongst the trees, so serene.
Inside's a stunner, designed with such flair,
Upstairs meeting room, chill or connect, if you dare.
Blue Bottle Cafe, where style meets taste,
In Shibuya, it's the spot, ain't no time to waste.
All the guides at the shop were very polite
The coffee canoule, exclusively at the Daikanyama branch, was also delicious.
I think I'll attend regularly again ☕️ 𓈒𓏸

The 'Starry Sky Restaurant' that opened in Shibuya in July is wonderful..
TRATTORIA PIZZERIA 207 Shibuya Branch
A new building, Shibuya Axu, opened in July 2024
An Italian restaurant with the concept of a 'Starry Sky Restaurant' where you can enjoy a resort feeling while being in the city.
You can enjoy the taste of a popular Italian house in Hayama in Tokyo as well🕯️
Exquisite dishes that make use of local ingredients such as seafood from Hayama and Hayama Ishii beef.
・Carpaccio around Hayama
・Bismarck
Tomato, prosciutto, mozzarella cheese, soft-boiled egg
The pizza dough is neither too thin nor too thick, just perfect..
・Uninhabited island oysters and aonori cream pasta
Sterile oysters that can be eaten raw and pasta with aonori and sea breeze flavor are super delicious🦪 Highly recommended
・Hayama Tiramisu
Mascarpone and espresso, so light it melts in your mouth.
The atmosphere changes drastically between night and day, I want to go during the day next time🤤
Open 11:00-23:00
📍 2nd floor, Shibuya Axu, 2-17-1 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo (1 minute walk from Shibuya Station)

First time in Shibuya
Shibuya is one of Tokyo’s most vibrant and bustling districts, renowned for its fashion, nightlife, and the iconic Shibuya Crossing. Located in the southwestern part of central Tokyo, Shibuya serves as a major commercial and business hub. Its history dates back to the Edo period when it was a small castle town, but it has since transformed into a symbol of Tokyo’s modernity and dynamic culture. The district is home to numerous shopping malls, including the famous Shibuya 109, which is a mecca for youth fashion. The streets of Shibuya are always filled with people, from local trendsetters to international tourists, all drawn by the area’s energetic atmosphere and endless entertainment options.
One of the most notable landmarks in Shibuya is the Hachiko Statue, which honors the loyal dog Hachiko who waited for his owner every day at Shibuya Station even after his owner’s death. This statue has become a popular meeting point and a poignant symbol of loyalty and devotion. Shibuya Crossing, often dubbed the world’s busiest pedestrian intersection, sees thousands of people cross from all directions simultaneously when the traffic lights turn red. This spectacle has become an emblem of Tokyo’s fast-paced urban life and is a must-see for visitors.
Shibuya also boasts a thriving nightlife, with countless bars, clubs, and live music venues catering to all tastes. The district’s backstreets, particularly in areas like Nonbei Yokocho and Center Gai, offer a more intimate and authentic experience with small izakayas (Japanese pubs) and unique shops. Additionally, Shibuya is a hub for creativity and innovation, with numerous tech startups and creative industries based in the area. The redevelopment projects, including the construction of Shibuya Scramble Square and the renovation of Shibuya Station, are further enhancing the district’s appeal. Overall, Shibuya exemplifies the dynamic spirit of Tokyo, blending tradition and modernity in a uniquely compelling way.

Nice view from shibuya!
Good morning Tokyo!
Shibuya Nonbei Yokocho
This a great small street with lovely restaurants. I've been coming here for a few years, and I have always enjoyed. It is so much better than the new yokocho, which is on the next street. I really recommend this old yokocho if you want a fantastic atmosphere, service and food and drink.
This place is awesome. Just have a seat in one of these small restaurants. Be sure to venture in the alleys as the "main" alley has the most tourists. Had one of the best gyozas in my life here
In 2024 I wish to visit this place again.
