How to hike the East-West Dapeng Peninsula, one of the top 10 most beautiful coastlines in China? 🗺Route: Dongchong👉Observatory👉Xichong 👉Distance: 6–7 km 🕐Duration: 4.5 hrs (including photo stops) 🚗Transport: If you are driving, we recommend navigating to Xichong Parking Lot and then taking a taxi to Dongchong Community Workstation or Dongchong Beach (approx. RMB 30). Alternatively, you can take the subway to Xiaomeisha Station (Exit C) and then take a ride-hailing service to Dongchong (approx. RMB 25–30 per person). 🧥Clothing: Wear sneakers, preferably non-slip. The UV rays are strong on the coast, so bring sunglasses and a sun-protective jacket. A sun hat, long pants, gloves (for the ropes), and a backpack are also recommended. Avoid carrying items in your hands, as the rocks on the coast make it difficult to climb up and down. 💦Supplies: There are many supply points along the way. Prices vary depending on the distance, but are slightly more expensive than regular convenience stores. Reference price: RMB 5–15 for water and drinks. We recommend bringing some fruit, Snickers, and compressed biscuits to replenish your energy. There are also free restrooms along the way. 🚾 💡Tips: The observatory requires an online reservation in advance, but the coastal boardwalk does not. You can make a reservation on the Shenzhen Observatory WeChat account. If you get tired along the way, you can take a yacht back to your destination near the observatory (RMB 50 per person, one way).
