Red and black threads intertwine in contemplation of life and death | Shiota Chiharu - Trembling Soul

If you come to the Shenzhen Art Museum to see Shiota Chiharu's 'Trembling Soul' exhibition (free), don't just take pictures. If you can calm down, this is an exhibition worth quietly feeling (some feelings cannot be expressed in words), there will be some thoughts on life and death, and the human environment. My favorite work is 'Accumulation - Searching for a Place', hundreds of suitcases are hung by red threads, swaying with the wind, sinking and floating. Seeing thousands of boxes, you will think about why the wandering son will leave his hometown? Why go elsewhere? Why set off? As she said: When people leave their hometowns, they all have a place in their hearts... Looking in the mirror, I realized for the first time: I have black hair and black eyes, the longer I wander, the more mixed, the easier it is to re-examine myself in a foreign land. Shiota Chiharu, born in Osaka in 1972, now lives in Berlin. Her work is an attempt to transition between Asian and European cultures. Her inspiration usually comes from her own experiences and emotions, and later evolves into a discussion about life issues. In this exhibition, you can see a room entwined with thousands of red threads, like red blood flowing in blood vessels, and a small boat made of black iron wire is connected by red threads, like a floating life fate. There is also 'Inside and Outside', each collected window has witnessed the flow and change of German society in the 20th century.
