During the National Day Golden Week in 2024, our family decided to have an in-depth tour of Shenyang, a city with a long history and rich cultural heritage. "The food and fodder must be prepared before the carriage and horses move." First of all, we have to solve the three problems of food, accommodation and transportation. With the experience of grabbing tickets on May 1st, this time we grabbed tickets in advance on a third-party platform. After looking at the layout of Shenyang's high-speed railway stations, North Station and Shenyang Station are the first choices, mainly because Shenyang South Station is too far away. Then I looked at the location of various attractions, and then at the prices, reviews, and transportation convenience of hotels near the train station, and finally chose Shenyang Station. We chose the Haiyun Jinjiang International Hotel, which is located opposite the West Square of Shenyang Railway Station. It is a domestic brand under Jinjiang and also supports "domestic products". Overall it's good. The parent-child suite we booked is very cost-effective. The service staff are very polite and courteous. They will try their best to meet your needs. The room is warmly decorated and suitable for children. There are two bathrooms, so you don't have to fight for them in the morning. The hotel's breakfast is quite rich. There is no extra charge for children under 1.3 meters. The little ones are particularly interested in cakes and bread. There is also a children's corner in the restaurant. Although it is a little small, it is good for children to play there after dinner instead of making noises around them. During this trip to Shenyang, I mainly visited two places. The first one was the "Zhongjie Business District". My God, it was crowded and very prosperous. I didn't expect Shenyang to have become a tourist city. The first stop is the Shenyang Palace Museum. As one of the two most complete existing imperial palace complexes in China, the Shenyang Palace Museum attracts us with its unique Manchu architectural style. Although it is not as big as the Forbidden City in Beijing, it is also very shocking to look at. Here, let your children travel between ancient palaces, listen to historical stories, and feel the royal style and the hardships of founding an empire. The second stop is the Shenyang Mansion, also known as Zhang's Mansion, which is near the Forbidden City and is a complex of buildings with important historical significance. This was once the official residence and private residence of Fengtian warlord leader Zhang Zuolin and his son Zhang Xueliang. It has witnessed many major events in China's modern history. Some of the history is more shocking when you see it in person than in books. But it's a bit small and you can finish the tour in a short while. The second place is the Qipanshan Zoo, a national 4A scenic spot. The Shenyang Qipanshan Zoo exhibits a rich variety of animals, covering more than 80 species and more than 1,300 rare wild animals from all over the world. Among them are some species that are very rare both domestically and internationally, such as African lions, chimpanzees, giraffes, leopards, kangaroos, etc. In addition, there are local animals, such as the red-crowned crane, Siberian tiger, and giant panda.
