Shenyang Imperial Palace, also known as Mukden Palace, is located in Shenhe District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. It was the palace of the early Qing Dynasty. It was built in 1625 during the reign of Nurhaci, the first emperor of the Qing Dynasty, and was completed in 1636 during the reign of Huang Taiji, the second emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Shenyang Imperial Palace covers an area of 63,272 square meters and a building area of 18,968 square meters. It is one of the only two royal palace buildings in China and the only royal building outside the Great Wall. After the Qing Dynasty moved its capital to Beijing, the Imperial Palace was called "the accompanying palace" and "the remaining palace". Shenyang Imperial Palace has gone through three construction periods of Nurhaci, Huang Taiji, and Qianlong, lasting 158 years, with more than 100 buildings and more than 500 rooms.
