A hidden gem for fall foliage in November: Genglou Ancient Path (with hiking guide).

Shaoxing Genglou in November is so beautiful! The cypress trees turn from yellow to fiery red, reflecting in the rippling lake, like a beautiful painting! 🤩 - In the cool and crisp autumn, it's a great place to take your kids for a fall outing or go camping and hiking with friends. 🍂 - Hiking difficulty: ⭐⭐⭐ Cypress trees turn red and yellow: November Cypress trees turn fiery red: December 📍Starting point: Nanshanhu Village, Shengzhou, Shaoxing 👉🏻If you just want to camp and enjoy the fall foliage, you can drive directly to the redwood forest. 1️⃣Non-loop (see images 4 and 5) 🔸The whole route is about 10 km, and it takes about 4.5 hours to complete. 🔸The start and end points are at opposite ends. I joined an outdoor group, and the bus will wait at the designated end point, or you can book a car in advance to wait at the end point. This route is not suitable for self-driving. 🔸If you depart from Shanghai, you will usually arrive at the starting point at 11:00 am and return at 3 or 4 pm. The whole journey is slow, and you can return to Shanghai at 7 or 8 pm. Hangzhou is even closer. 2️⃣Loop (see image 6) 🔸The whole route is about 19 km, and it takes about 7 hours to complete. 🔸If you turn to Yaan Village directly from Guimen Genglou, the whole route is about 14 km, and it takes about 5.5 hours to complete. You can choose the route according to your physical strength. 🔸The loop takes a long time, so it is recommended to start hiking at 8 or 9 am. ⚠️Notes: 🍁There is a free parking lot near the "Sanneng Center" in front of Nanshanhu Village. 🍁Convenience stores and toilets are far apart along the way, so it is recommended to plan ahead. 🍁There is a store in Guimen Village that serves delicious "rice cake and tofu soup". Some people can drink three bowls in a row. It costs CNY 10 per bowl and you can get unlimited refills. 📝What to bring: trekking poles, sunglasses, ID card, at least one bottle of water, snacks, drone (optional)
