Zhoushan City is located in the northeastern part of Zhejiang Province, east to the East China Sea, west to Hangzhou Bay, and north to Shanghai. It is the maritime gateway and passageway to the core city of the Dawan District of Hangzhou Bay, the Yangtze River Basin and the Yangtze River Delta. It is fanned out with emerging Asia-Pacific port cities. Zhoushan has a land area of 1440.12 square kilometers and a population of 1.152 million in 2015.
