Check-in World Heritage | Sheki Historical Center and Khan's Palace

Azerbaijan's Sheki was a stopover on the ancient Silk Road, with at least five ancient caravanserais, but a massive mudslide in the 18th century destroyed the old town that existed before, and today's historical center was rebuilt. The town is not large, built on a hillside, but it shines brightly because of a world heritage site, which is the Sheki Historical Center and Khan's Palace, included in the World Heritage list in 2019. The Khan's Palace was built in 1762, with beautiful courtyards and pools, surrounded by towering ancient trees. The palace's colorful windows are made using ancient and exquisite mosaic art, with nearly 5,000 pieces of glass, casting exotic light and shadows throughout the palace. The inner walls are painted with scenes featuring elements of flowers, hunting, and war, which are very much worth seeing. However, it is quite regrettable that photography is not allowed inside, so it is not possible to visually present the exquisite interior to everyone. But I sincerely hope that you will have the opportunity to visit in person, to truly appreciate the unique charm of this cultural treasure, and to feel its profound historical and artistic value.
