Shaoxing Xianheng Hotel A must-stay hotel when visiting Lu Xun's hometown

When I arrived in Shaoxing, a friend recommended checking in at the Xianheng Hotel! Coming to the Xianheng Hotel from Lu Xun's writings, I got to eat Kong Yiji's fennel beans! I first learned about Xianheng Hotel in the elementary school Chinese textbook story "Kong Yiji." While memorizing the text, I discovered that "the layout of Lu Town's tavern is different from other places," and the best snacks to accompany yellow rice wine are "salted bamboo shoots" and "fennel beans." Xianheng Hotel has seemingly become a cultural symbol of Shaoxing. "Kong Yiji," holding a fennel bean, standing on Lu Xun Middle Road in Shaoxing, has become a "celebrity" with whom tourists eagerly take photos, and behind him is the famous Xianheng Hotel. Today, the Xianheng Hotel still displays a sign that reads "March 6th, Kong Yiji owes nineteen coins." These few words instantly evoke endless memories and reflections. The hotel is very close to Lu Xun's Former Residence and Shen Garden, with many restaurants nearby. The hotel environment incorporates local Shaoxing elements and even offers complimentary Trip Moments, though unfortunately my tight schedule didn't allow time for photos. The restaurant at Xianheng Hotel also has a rich history, similar in style to Nanjing's open-air food courts, featuring Shaoxing cuisine at affordable prices, suitable for a family of three. The most recommended restaurant in Shaoxing is the Shaoxing Flavor Intangible Cultural Heritage shop, which has a small, hard-to-find entrance but reveals a hidden gem inside with a quiet courtyard. The restaurant's preserved vegetable braised pork changed my negative impression of this dish, and their marinated yellow croaker tastes authentic—better than the yellow croaker at Xianheng Hotel—satisfying all my foodie cravings! Xianheng Hotel is a great spot for social media check-ins!
