Lu Xun Native Place (Shaoxing)

Lu Xun Native Place, located at No. 241, Lu Xun Middle Road, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, is the homeland where Lu Xun was born and lived during his youth, and was renovated and protected in 1953. Shaoxing Lu Xun Native Place covers an area of 50 hectares and has a large number of cultural relics related to Lu Xun, such as Shaoxing Lu Xun's Former Residence, Hundred Plant Garden, Sanwei Study, Lu Xun's Ancestral Residence, Tugu Temple, Changqing Temple, Lu Xun's Style Garden, and Shaoxing Lu Xun Memorial Hall. Shaoxing Lu Xun Native Place protects and continues the traditional style of Shaoxing Ancient City, and is built into an ecological "cultural relic forest", which reflects the integrity of Shaoxing Ancient City's protection and is known as a model of Chinese celebrity residence protection. Lu Xun (September 25, 1881 – October 19, 1936), formerly known as Zhou Zhangshou, later changed to Zhou Shuren, formerly named Yushan, later changed to Yucai, once studied at Sendai Medical College in Japan (unfinished). "Lu Xun" was the pen name he used when he published "A Madman's Diary" in 1918, and it is also his most widely influential pen name. He was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. He was a famous writer, thinker, democratic fighter, an important participant in the May Fourth New Culture Movement, and the founder of modern Chinese literature. Mao Zedong once commented: "Lu Xun's direction is the direction of the new culture of the Chinese nation." In 2012, Lu Xun Native Place was recognized by the National Tourism Administration of the People's Republic of China as a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction as part of the "Lu Xun Native Place · Shen Garden Scenic Area".
