Shaoxing: Yingshan Goujian Mausoleum As the ancient book says: There is the Qin Palace in the north and Yingshan in the south. The Qin Palace naturally refers to the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, which is world-famous; Yingshan refers to the Yingshan Goujian Mausoleum, which is probably unknown to many locals. This 2,500-year-old mausoleum is hidden in Yingshan, 13 kilometers southwest of the ancient city of Shaoxing. It is currently the only triangular coffin chamber in China. The entire tomb is built with huge square wood, and its cross-section presents a rare isosceles triangle, which was first discovered in China. The second floor overlooks the entire tomb. Giant single-wood coffin The coffin of the Yingshan Mausoleum is carved from a huge log, half of which is used as the coffin body and the other half as the coffin cover. The size has exceeded the previous archaeological records. Moisture-proof and anti-corrosion technology The four-layer tomb chamber protection system is composed of rammed earth layer, green ointment, charcoal layer and bark layer. Under the thick green ointment is a large area of black charcoal.
