A quaint town perfect for basking in the sun and daydreaming

During a holiday stroll, I discovered an unheard-of ancient town in Shaoxing— the Yellow Wine Town. Upon entering, I found that this is what an ancient town should be like. Here, one can truly relax, sit by the river, soak up the sun, and daydream, giving oneself a complete mental break. Stepping into the Yellow Wine Town, the simple and unadorned atmosphere hits you. The town has a profound historical heritage; Dongpu Town has a history of over 1600 years, flourishing during the Song Dynasty, and is known for the saying, 'Yellow wine travels the world, Dongpu wine is the best.' 🚶‍♀️🚶Walking along the river, you can see wine jars of various shapes everywhere, as if telling the legendary stories of yellow wine. In a corner of the town stands a towering bronze statue of Xu Xilin, a famous revolutionary. 🚤On the river, there are black-awning boats and performance boats, beautifully decorated, attracting many people to stop and take photos. (Later I heard it was a water wedding event, and we missed the most lively scene) ☕️In the town, except for the place where the flower boats are seen, there are hardly any tourists, very quiet. You can go to a shop to buy a cup of yellow wine coffee, or yellow wine milk tea, or sweet wine brew, or simply buy a bowl to taste the yellow wine, sitting by the river enjoying the sun and daydreaming, very comfortable. 👨‍🏫The shop owners in the town are very enthusiastic. We tasted various types of yellow wine in one shop. Here, the owner explained to us the types and production process of yellow wine, letting us taste each type as it was introduced. It was here that I first heard of 'rice-added wine.' Use this guide to get a preliminary understanding of the town's history and culture, which makes the visit more interesting. 2️⃣You can get a free stamp, with stamps related to the yellow wine production process. There is also a type where you pay for a card to stamp, resulting in a colorful pattern, which is quite nice, and children love it. 🍽Dining recommendations: We didn't eat at the restaurants in the town but bought stinky tofu and sweet wine brew at a riverside stall. We also ordered yellow wine milk tea🥤and yellow wine coffee☕️ at a riverside shop. The taste was okay, depending on personal preference. Most of the time was spent in a wine-making workshop listening to the owner talk about the history and production process of yellow wine, tasting many kinds of yellow wine.
