Shanghai December Ginkgo Route Collection! Don't Miss the Best Viewing Period

December is the peak season for ginkgo in Shanghai! The core viewing period lasts only 10-15 days. We've organized three ginkgo routes: Jumen Road, Longhua Temple, and Zhongshan Park–East China University of Political Science and Law Suzhou River section. If the weekend weather is good, go take photos quickly. ⚠️ The spots are quite far apart, so you can choose one or two points to check in. If you want to visit all in one day, you can take the subway or a taxi between them. The travel details are introduced below. Stop 1: Jumen Road (Photos 10-12) 🍂 The whole street is full of ginkgo! No need to zoom in to fill your screen. 🚇 Transportation: Line 13, Expo Museum Station, Exit 3, 6-minute walk 📍 Ginkgo viewing route: Walk from the subway to the intersection of Zhongshan South 1st Road. Don’t go to the Binjiang section! Walk north all the way to the intersection of Quxi Road, ending at the Xietu Road intersection. 📸 Along the way, Starbucks, the filming location of "Good Things" adult soda, the red ☎️ booth, and passing buses and taxis are all great photo backgrounds! Stop 2: Longhua Temple (Photos 2-5, 15-minute taxi from Jumen Road) 🍂 Recently, everyone has been competing in photography skills at this ancient ginkgo temple & encountering temple cats 🐈 🚇 Transportation: Line 11, Longhua Station, Exit 2, 8-minute walk 📍 Ginkgo photo spots: 1. Ginkgo avenue in front of the temple square (Photos 3, near the Martyrs' Cemetery side): Two rows of ginkgo trees, a small pond reflecting the ancient temple (a little secret: you need to squat to shoot and it’s very crowded, so try to go early) 2. Other photo spots are inside the temple, with flying eaves, plaques, etc., all matching well with ginkgo! Some visitors bring food to attract cats; if you want to meet them, bring some cat treats. 💡 Tip: No advance reservation or ticket needed for the temple. Stop 3: Zhongshan Park + East China University of Political Science and Law Suzhou River section (Photos 6-9, 20-minute taxi from Longhua Temple to Zhongshan Park) 🍂 Park + campus + riverside, a super chill route to walk from afternoon until dark 🚇 Transportation: Lines 2/3/4, Zhongshan Park Station, Exit 7, enter from Park Gate 1, exit from Gate 2, directly reach East China University of Political Science and Law Southeast Gate 2 (route map attached - Photo 13) 📍 Walking route: 1. Zhongshan Park (Photos 6-7): Experience the retired life of the elderly; many grandparents dancing. You can also enjoy red maples in the park. 2. East China University of Political Science and Law (Photos 8-9): You can enter directly with an ID card. Formerly St. John's University, full of historical heritage, with many ginkgo trees on campus. 3. The campus leads directly to the Suzhou River bank, where you can admire century-old ginkgo trees and French-style architecture.
