The Centennial Red Brick Building, the birthplace of the National Anthem

Located at No. 811 Hengshan Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, the Baidai Little Red Building in Xujiahui Park features French Art Nouveau style and is an independent garden residence. It is named "Little Red Building" due to its red curved sloping roof and exposed red brick walls. This is the birthplace of the National Anthem of the People's Republic of China. In May 1935, the first version of the "March of the Volunteers" record was made here. It is also a benchmark in the music industry and was once the largest recording studio in Asia. Classics such as Zhou Xuan's "Night Shanghai" and Yao Li's "Rose, Rose, I Love You" were recorded here. This place witnessed the creation and spread of anti-Japanese salvation songs and is known as the "fortress of progressive musicians." Baidai Little Red Building is a red cultural landmark and is listed as one of the first revolutionary relics in Shanghai.
