After being refused, it directly opened fire on the defenders and bombarded Wanping City. This was the beginning of the full-scale invasion of China by Japanese imperialism. 🔥The origin of the fuse of the Battle of Songhu🔥 On August 9, 1937, a lieutenant and a soldier of the Japanese Marine Corps stationed in Shanghai drove a car to force their way into the Hongqiao military airport. The airport guards tried to stop them but were shot. The Chinese army was forced to fight back and killed two Japanese soldiers. This incident became the fuse of the Battle of Songhu on August 13. In this Battle of Songhu, China deployed more than 750,000 naval, land and air forces, with about 300,000 casualties; Japan deployed 250,000 troops, with only more than 60,000 casualties. Although our weapons and equipment were very different, our patriotic sentiment made us unite to fight against foreign enemies. Even if the people in front fell, the people behind were not afraid and bravely fought against the enemy, which also crushed the Japanese army's arrogant attempt to conquer China in three months. ✨Exhibition Hall Core Display: Sihang Warehouse Defense Warehouse✨ (October 26-October 31, 1937) The Sihang Warehouse is a 25-meter-high concrete building. It was originally a warehouse jointly built by four banks (Jincheng Bank, Zhongnan Bank, Continental Bank, and Salt Bank). The soldiers of the First Battalion of the 524th Regiment of the 262nd Brigade of the 88th Division of the National Revolutionary Army actually had only more than 420 people. In order to confuse the Japanese army, they were called "Eight Hundred People". In the late night of October 26, 1937, they entered the Sihang Warehouse and held on. With the determination to sacrifice their lives for the country, the "Eight Hundred Warriors" fought against the Japanese invaders with a tiny piece of land. In the four-day and night confrontation, they repelled the enemy's crazy attacks more than a dozen times and killed and wounded more than 200 enemies. In the early morning of October 31, 1937, he was ordered to evacuate to the International Settlement, but was detained by the authorities of the Settlement at Jiaozhou Road Barracks. The Japanese invaders regarded Xie Jinyuan as a thorn in their eyes, so on April 24, 1941, he was assassinated by the rebels bribed by the Japanese army and died unfortunately. After the social circles learned about this, they held a grand memorial service to commemorate this great anti-Japanese national hero. Among them, the three people who impressed me the most: 1) Xie Jinyuan, the deputy regiment commander, actually gave up literature and joined the military. 2) Chen Shusheng, who sacrificed his life for justice, was only 21 years old at the time. 3) Girl Scout Yang Huimin sent the flag, which was commendable for her courage. At that time, the east and south sides of the Sihang Warehouse were the British and American concessions, and the Japanese army could only choose the west side as the main attack. And the west wall with thousands of holes that we see now was repaired according to the bullet holes at that time without distortion. Ending: Although most of these heroes survived, they did not welcome victory, but were forced to retreat into the concession on November 1, disarmed, and placed under house arrest in a concentration camp. This memorial hall is well planned. At the entrance is a letter written by the deputy regiment commander Xie Jinyuan to his wife, which is really touching.
