Check in at the outdoor spiral pedestrian walkway of the Shanghai Museum East Building

Visiting the Shanghai Museum East Building for the first time. No need to make a reservation in advance; you can just scan your ID card at the entrance for free admission. The entrance is on the basement level. The East Building feels larger than the old Shanghai Museum at People’s Square. The exhibits inside are very rich, including bronze ware, jade, coins, ceramics, calligraphy, seal carving, and more. What impressed me even more was the outdoor pedestrian walkway that spirals down from the rooftop. The scenery is stunning, and walking on the spiral path makes you feel like there is a peaceful oasis amidst the city’s skyscraper jungle. It’s perfect for taking photos and checking in. Inside the East Building, there are several dining options, cafes, and souvenir shops. The food prices are a bit high but still acceptable. So if you spend the whole day visiting and don’t bring your own food, you can dine inside. There are free water dispensers providing hot and cold water, so just bring your own cup. The Shanghai Museum East Building is closed every Tuesday, so don’t miss it. Take Metro Line 2 to Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Station, and it’s just a short walk from the exit. #
