Fairmont Peace Hotel On The Bund, Shanghai: Where Luxury Meets History I recently stayed at an amazing hotel in Shanghai - Fairmont Peace Hotel On The Bund, Shanghai. It has an excellent location right on the Bund, and my stay was so comfortable! I. Prime Location with Stunning Bund Views The hotel is located in the heart of the Bund, like a 24-hour immersive theater. Here, you feel like you're waking up in a century-old building, with the waves of the Huangpu River as your wonderful morning background music. 80% of the rooms have views of the Huangpu River sunrise right when you open your eyes, which is simply perfect for lazy people who love to stay in bed. Whether it's the magical moment of seeing the "three-piece set" of Lujiazui reflected in a champagne glass while taking a bath, or the cyberpunk painting woven by neon lights on the water surface late at night, it's all intoxicating. You can reach the Bund sightseeing platform by crossing the road, and it only takes 8–15 minutes to get to Yu Garden/Town God's Temple. You can stroll to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street for a cup of coffee. There are also attractions such as the Postal Museum and 1933 Old Millfun nearby. II. Rich Artistic Atmosphere, Like a Mobile Art Museum The hotel's public areas have been carefully upgraded and renovated to be consistent with other Maxx hotels, with neatness and integration of artworks. The lobby has paintings by Chinese and foreign masters, with a powerful aura. The Wong Kar-wai-style city photography wall in the elevator hall is an excellent spot for cinematic shots. Each floor's corridor is like a "porcelain museum", displaying German antiques and Jingdezhen unique pieces. The lobby also has Finn Juhl master chairs, bringing surprises at every turn. III. A Gastronomic Feast with a Rich Variety of Food From morning to night, the hotel's dining options can bring wonderful experiences. Breakfast includes a divine combination of Riesling and German bread, as well as honeycomb freshly cut honey and plain yogurt, which you can DIY for a lot of fun. The German pork knuckles and sausages for dinner can make you feel like you're back in Europe with just one bite. There are also live performances on Fridays and Saturdays, creating a lively atmosphere. IV. Full of Details, Quality and Technology Coexist The room details are well-controlled, with a perfect collision of old money style and black technology. The mortise and tenon antique cabinet hides a cocktail bar, and comes with a special recipe card. It is equipped with LALIQUE same-style toiletries, which makes people want to sneak away after using them. There are 5 types of pillow menus and a fleece bathrobe, which makes the winter happiness soar. You can also choose your turndown service gift and fragrance type in advance. The second time I stayed, I chose a full river view room, with a whole window facing the Bund. The Jinling East Road Ferry Terminal is downstairs, making it very convenient to take a boat to Pudong. The bathroom design is very clever. The vanity mirror creates the illusion that the bathroom has two windows by reflecting the window next to the bathtub. Although the overall area of the room is relatively small due to the age of the building, it is still satisfying to have a sofa area in the thirty-plus square meters. 🧹Soundproofing/Hygiene: The soundproofing is good, providing a quiet and comfortable resting environment. The hygiene is excellent, and the rooms and public areas are spotless. 🏘️Room Type/Layout: There are various room types, and the river view rooms have excellent views. Although some rooms are not large, the layout is reasonable and the functional areas are clearly defined. 🛌Supplies/Facilities: Equipped with high-quality toiletries, a special cocktail bar, etc. The public area has a rich display of artworks, and the dining facilities are also complete. 💰️Average Consumption: The price of a full river view room is 1500+, and the side river view is 1000+, which is a reasonable price among the hotels around the Bund. 💗Other tips: 1. Communicate with the hotel in advance to choose your favorite turndown service gift and fragrance. 2. You can use the ferry terminal downstairs to experience the fun of taking a boat to Pudong. 3. There are many surrounding attractions, so plan your route in advance. 4. There are live performances on Friday and Saturday, so don't miss them.
