Chasing Sakura at Tongji University 🌸

#cherryblossom25 Tongji University is one of the best places in Shanghai to admire cherry blossoms in a serene and academic setting. Every spring, from late March to early April, the campus transforms into a pink and white wonderland as hundreds of cherry trees burst into bloom. The most famous cherry blossom spot is along the central avenues near the university’s iconic buildings, where rows of Yoshino cherry trees create a breathtaking canopy of delicate petals. The combination of historic architecture and vibrant sakura makes it a favorite spot for students, faculty, and visitors to take a stroll, capture photos, or simply enjoy the fleeting beauty of spring. The gentle breeze often sends petals drifting through the air, creating a scene reminiscent of a classic Chinese painting. Compared to other cherry blossom locations in Shanghai, Tongji University offers a quieter and more intimate viewing experience, free from large tourist crowds. Whether you’re a photography enthusiast, a student seeking a moment of relaxation, or simply someone who loves cherry blossoms, a visit to Tongji University during sakura season provides a peaceful and picturesque escape in the heart of the city.

#discoverchina Spent 2 nights at the Grand Central. Entering into the hotel seemed a bit cluttered with the fist view one gets is of the bar and the breakfast area, with reception tucked away at the back. Check in was very efficient hence quick. From the reception you get a more grander view of the hotel and know you are in 5* surroundings The room was large and very grand. The furnishing lived up to it. the bathroom was large and ornate. At breakfast staff were good and service very good. Food selection was okay, not very big. Hotel in a very good position and in walking distance to most places...Nanjing Road, the Bund, Peoples square etc. Had a good stay. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anybody.
