No ticket is required to visit the Yuyuan Lantern Festival, but be sure to avoid peak times.

The 2025 Yuyuan Lantern Festival will continue the story of "The Legend of the Mountains and Seas," featuring mythical creatures from the Classic of Mountains and Seas, the Shanghai mascot Tu Xiaobu, and Yordles and Poros from League of Legends: Wild Rift. 🏮Lighting Ceremony: The lighting ceremony will be held at 16:30 in the square in front of Yan Hai Ge in Huabao Building, with dance performances. You can stay until dark to see the lanterns, and there is no clearing in between. It is recommended to arrive half an hour early and not to arrive at the last minute. The lights will be turned off at 22:00. ⚠️It is recommended to visit on regular days as much as possible. There are too many people during the Spring Festival holiday, and the experience is really bad. Most people arrive early and wait until dark. The peak time is 18:00–19:00, and the queue for the Nine-bend Bridge is too long. If you enter early, it is recommended to find a restaurant and stay until after 20:00 before going to the Nine-bend Bridge. 🔥If you want the best experience, buy a ticket and enter after 20:00, when there will definitely be fewer people. 🕒Lantern Festival Dates: January 1–February 12, 2025 🖼️Supporting Exhibition: "More Than Lanterns: 30 Years of the Yuyuan Lantern Festival and Chinese Lantern Art Exhibition" on the 3rd floor of Huabao Building, which fully records the history of the Yuyuan Lantern Festival (separate admission fee for the exhibition). 🎫Ticket Prices: Regular day adult tickets are CNY 50, peak day adult tickets are CNY 80; regular day child tickets (ages 3–11 or 1–1.4 m) are CNY 30, peak day child tickets are CNY 50. 🔹Note: Monday to Thursday are basically regular days, while Friday to Sunday and holidays are peak days. In addition, the old Jiu Jiao Road on the west side of Yuyuan is free, and Yuyuan Garden charges a separate fee and is not open at night.
