The historical mark of the city park ~ Xujiahui Park

Xujiahui Park is part of the 4A scenic spot Xujiahuiyuan. It is surrounded by Hengshan Road, Tianping Road, Zhaojiabang Road and Wanping Road. The original site was the Shanghai Greater China Rubber Factory, Shanghai EMI Records Company (China Record Shanghai Branch) and other surrounding units and residential areas. 🔆Park Features ✔️The park was built in 2000 and retains the chimney of the rubber factory and the office building of the record factory to pass on historical memory. ✔️The design layout is in the shape of Shanghai, simulating water areas such as the Huangpu River, and is connected by a nearly 200-meter-long overpass. The Huijin Lake in the park is similar to the location and flow direction of the Huangpu River, simulating the division of the park into two sides of the Huangpu River. ✔️It is a fully open park. There are entrances from Hengshan Road, Tianping Road, Zhaojiabang Road and Wanping Road. 💢Must-visit attractions 1⃣️Memorial Chimney The specific location is near the intersection of Tianping Road and Zhaojiabang Road. The memorial chimney was originally 28 meters high and was built in 1926 as the smoke exhaust equipment of the Greater China Rubber Factory. When Xujiahui Park was built, a layer of special material similar to fiber cloth was wrapped on the surface of the chimney to prevent corrosion and strengthen the structure. The chimney was raised by 11 meters, and a new hollow stainless steel cone-shaped device filled with optical fibers was installed on the top. 2⃣️EMI Building It was built in 1921 and has the style features of the French Art Nouveau period. It is an independent garden house with a pseudo three-story brick and wood structure. It has a red tile sloping roof and red brick walls, and is called the "Little Red Building". There is a scallop-shaped rain pavilion at the main entrance on the north side, and the southern balcony uses an Ionic double-column loggia and a large curved staircase. The interior decoration is exquisite and intricate. This is the Asia-Pacific headquarters of EMI Oriental Records, which pioneered the history of record production in China. In May 1935, EMI invited many progressive figures from Shanghai's literary and art circles to record "March of the Volunteers" here and produced the first edition of the record. 3⃣️Centennial camphor tree A camphor tree that is over a hundred years old, more than 20 meters tall, with lush branches and leaves. It stands silently in front of the EMI building, witnessing important historical moments in the history of Chinese music.
