Hotel Exploration: J Hotel Shanghai Center - Jinyan

Located on the 103rd floor of Shanghai Tower, Jinyan Chinese Restaurant has invested heavily in everything from the walls to the furnishings in the private rooms. The corridors are covered in Chinese red, and the transparent crystal "Auspicious Dragon Playing with a Pearl" in the restaurant is quite eye-catching. The hollow flower covers carved from colored glaze, the colored glaze gold foil embedded in the red walls, the crystal jade materials...all demonstrate the grand Chinese style. It specializes in authentic Cantonese cuisine and has 8 private rooms, 5 of which are inspired by the five elements of "gold, wood, water, fire and earth". There is also a hand-painted landscape painting by painter Mr. Zhou Xikang on the moon gate, which is quite poetic. There are also custom-made rooms for artists representing colored glaze and enamel, which blend the romance of modern art with the nation’s unique “elegance and dignity”. It is very grand, and each scene is permeated with the beauty of traditional Chinese craftsmanship. The ingredients are fresh, the food is cooked to perfection, the taste is delicious, and the presentation is particularly attentive. Service was good but seemed understaffed, overall excellent rating. It’s quite expensive, and I’m afraid it will be even more expensive in the future if it gets a Michelin star rating!
