Gaolan Road | One of the 64 roads in Shanghai that will never be widened.

Today, I'm going to stroll along Gaolan Road, starting from the end of South Shaanxi Road. I always thought this was Xuhui District, but it turns out to be Huangpu District. I checked the map and the boundary is at South Shaanxi Road. 📸Looking at the buildings 🔸No. 1 Gaolan Road is a Spanish-style independent garden house built in 1939 for a banker. 🔸No. 2 Gaolan Road is a somewhat dilapidated old house. It seems that there are still people living inside, with clothes drying outside the window. 🔸Further inside is Fuxing Park. Many elderly people come in and out. The square at the entrance is a rose garden with a small fountain. ⛲ It's a park hidden in the city. Now let's go back and take a look at the other end of Gaolan Road. This end of Gaolan Road is much better looking. It's a beautiful little road with not many shops. There is a flower shop, an eyewear shop, a bookstore, a coffee bar, a dental clinic, and a kindergarten... 📖Reading + ☕Drinking coffee 🔸No. 16 Gaolan Road is Sinan Books' poetry store. It was originally the St. Nicholas Church with an onion dome. Now it is a bookstore and cafe inside, which is quite cool. There are colored murals on the dome. 🔸No. 27 Gaolan Road is CURE COFFEE. It has coffee and wine. It's a very mini two-story building. The living room on the second floor is very elegant. When you walk out of Gaolan Road, you will reach the bustling Ruijin Second Road. At the intersection is a kindergarten and a representative office of the National People's Congress. That's the end of today's stroll along the small road.
