Qibao Old Street

Qibao Old Street became popular because of its flowers, but its former simple and elegant style has also become a tourist town. There are all kinds of brand stores, tea and coffee shops, or antique hotels along the stream, but there are still some memories and snacks left. Qibao Old Street is named after the seven treasures gathered there. This settlement was formed in the Song Dynasty. The archway at the entrance and the corner decorations on the walls along the street all depict and describe the origins and introductions of the seven treasures. The town is not big, and is made up of various alleys and lanes, with three arch bridges across the river connecting the north and south. Walking along the main street, the North Street is mostly selling items, such as old Shanghai vanishing cream, scarves, clothes, quilts, etc. The South Street mainly sells food, such as scallion pancakes, pork feet, mutton, rice balls, pickled vegetables, etc. If you want to taste the delicious snacks of old Shanghai, most of them can be found here. The old street also has former residences of celebrities, a path with wish boards hanging on the Magpie Bridge, a shadow puppet museum and other tourist attractions. Some of them require tickets to enter. There is only one attraction, the Qibao Temple, which is far away from the old street and near a large parking lot, so it takes quite a long time to walk.
