The relentless rain, truly living up to the name of the violent 'Plum Rain', but the rainy season can't stop the lotus flowers from wanting to bloom, nor can it stop our steps to go see them! 👉 Wendao Garden Who says our beloved Shanghai doesn't have its own beautiful gardens? Check out Wendao Garden in Luodian Ancient Town! It features Huizhou-style architecture with white walls and black tiles, a 'Manchu Han Imperial Feast' of exotic stones, a super fun pomelo camp, and the only Bagua lotus pond in Magic City. Although the lotus flowers are not yet in full bloom, the aerial view is absolutely stunning! U1S1, as a 4A scenic spot, the ticket is a bit pricey, but if you dine at the Jinshi Di restaurant in the garden, you can get in for free, and their Huizhou cuisine is quite delicious. 👉 Shanghai Binjiang Forest Park The hidden gem in Waigaoqiao, Binjiang Forest Park, is indeed a treasure! Not only can you see the beautiful lotus flowers, but you can also GET the stunning bicolor lotus next to the Yixin Pavilion! However, Binjiang Forest Park is so large that it's impossible to visit both Phase 1 and Phase 2 at the same time, you can only choose one each time. Luckily, the admission is 🆓 free! 👉 Shanghai Bay National Forest Park Fell in love with this national park far from the city center because of its autumnal redwood forest. Unexpectedly, the flatboat here not only allows you to row into the water forest but also to admire the lotus flowers on the water up close, and there are also a whopping 200+ acres of lotus ponds, so impressive! Every time I go to Shanghai Bay National Forest Park, I buy a combo ticket for the entrance/flatboat/sightseeing car, which is very cost-effective.
