Who says freebies are no good? Recently, my friends showed me these free attractions in the Magic City that are off the beaten path, with few people, beautiful scenery, and lots of fun. They are truly the epitome of a niche vacation spot for the summer holidays! 👉 Huaxia Park This place is like a mini zoo with dozens of adorable and free-roaming deer. There's also a wildlife inn housing rescued peacocks, black swans, sika deer, parrots, monkeys, mallard ducks, and more. It reminds me of the animal orphanage I saw in Kenya, filled with the same spirit of love. On my recent visit, I saw newly born fawns in the park, which were so cute it should be illegal! However, a reminder that the deer garden is only open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. 👉 Fuxing Island Park A secret island in the Magic City with a Japanese-style park that's nearly 100 years old. Apart from occasionally encountering young ladies taking photos or petting cats, there are very few visitors. What you'll see is a sea of summer greenery and hidden white cottages with beautiful courtyards. 👉 Shanghai Telecommunications Museum Located on the Bund in Shanghai, you can also GET into a free museum! And it's even in one of Shanghai's outstanding historical buildings, with free guided tours! You can find all sorts of antiques like telegraphs, public telephones, early cell phones, pagers, and dial-up internet modems in the museum. There are few visitors who come to check in, but if you want to visit individually, you can only book on Saturdays or Sundays. Group reservations are required at other times.
