Shanghai Auto Museum

#chinatrip Car museum located in the Anting Shanghai International Auto City area. Definitely a must see if you are interested in cars especially classic cars. 60 RMB for an adult ticket. Open Tuesday-Sunday 9:30am to 4:30pm. Closed earlier in the day than expected so take note to get there earlier. I easily spent over 3 hours browsing the 3 floors of cars and information. First floor has the history of the automobile from the wheel to the first diesel engine, auto transmission, and assembly line. Lots of cool stuff to see. Next floor has a history of the automobile in China. 3rd floor is comprised of antique classic car collections and an extended range of miniature car models. On the top level there is a learning and discovering area for children and adults which teaches you about how cars work and the parts of the car (engine combustion cycle, transmission, suspension, steering, etc.) All of the children's stuff is in Chinese however. Also F1 racing simulators on this level. There is a gift shop by the entrance that sales lots of miniature car models. Great if you can occupy yourself, not many guide options and only restroom I saw was on the top floor. Definitely check it out for the classic cars alone.
