Indigo Hotel Shanghai Jing'an

Indigo Hotel Shanghai Jing'an||The first stop of the New Year brought me to Shanghai, where I stayed at the Jing'an Indigo Hotel. I've pretty much stayed at all the hotels in Shanghai that I particularly wanted to visit, and I'm looking to experience more new hotels, so this time it was a choice between Jing'an Indigo and InterContinental. I had seen posts before that neither of these two hotels had particularly good reviews, but Jing'an Indigo seemed a bit better by comparison, so I chose it. When I checked in, the hotel looked quite deserted, with only one guest consulting about something in the vast lobby. From a distance on the way there, I saw that not many lights were on in the hotel building. When I arrived at the front desk to check in, the staff was quite enthusiastic, informing me that they had upgraded my room. I had booked a deluxe room, and they upgraded me to a deluxe scenic room. When I asked about the lounge benefits, I was told that the hotel lounge was not open, but I could have breakfast in the breakfast restaurant the next day, which was a bit off-topic, but okay, I won't dwell on it. Since my flight was the next evening, I asked if I could check out late, and was told I could only extend it to two o'clock, which is indeed a bit interesting considering the low occupancy rate, and I could somewhat sense the reason for the lack of popularity of the hotel. The decoration of the hotel lobby is very interesting, filled with photos of movie elements. As someone who likes movies, I find this style of decoration really attractive, and since the lobby was almost empty, I took a few more pictures. Under the dim lights, it felt like being in a movie scene, with the rest area and bar on the side creating an interesting atmosphere. I actually quite like this feeling, as it easily allows one to experience the charm of a slow-paced life. The room is called a scenic room, but I didn't see much of a view to speak of. It must be a corner room, and the room is quite large, about fifty or sixty square meters. Overall, I am quite satisfied. The decoration style is very unique and very much in line with my impression of Indigo. The design of the entrance as a luggage room is bold and interesting. The room cleanliness is up to standard, and the maintenance is also quite good. After all, it is not a new hotel, and many signs of use can be seen, but it is not a big deal. The soundproofing and blackout are very good, the bed is a bit hard, but still comfortable to sleep on. The whole room decoration actually looks more like a designer hotel, with an unconventional design style. The huge bathtub in the corner of the bathroom is awesome, and it's definitely no problem for two people to soak at the same time, while also enjoying the city view. I quite like the decoration from the public area to the room, probably because it fits my aesthetic. It's my first time staying in a movie-themed hotel, and coupled with the fact that it's in big Shanghai, Shanghai and movies seem to have an inseparable connection. As the birthplace of Chinese cinema and a frequent element in many movies, the story sounds even more substantial. The only issue is with the checkout, which was a bit uncomfortable. Clearly, the hotel wasn't very occupied, so why not just extend the checkout to four o'clock? No choice, after checking out the next day, I had to carry my luggage and city walk, take a taxi to Mei Luo City until six o'clock, have a meal, and then take the subway leisurely to the airport to catch my flight, which was also a unique experience.
