Fa Zang Lecture Temple: The only Tiantai Buddhism venue in Shanghai

Fa Zang Lecture Temple is located at No. 271 Ji'an Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai. It is the only Buddhist venue established in Shanghai in the last century that promotes the Tiantai sect. It has long preached the doctrines of Tiantai Buddhism, becoming a famous temple in Shanghai. It was once known as one of the 'Four Great Jungles of Shanghai' alongside the Jade Buddha Temple, Longhua Temple, and Jing'an Temple. Unlike other temples, Fa Zang Lecture Temple has a unique pagoda-style architectural pattern. The side gate, the window frames of the facade, and the eaves columns of the main building incorporate many Western architectural elements in their parts and details.
