Korean Nanta Cooking Show

The Korean Nanta Musical is the first non-verbal performance in Korea, created with the melody of the Samul nori as its material. It ingeniously combines the rhythms of Korean Samul nori with Western drum sets, thus making this work a success. Set in a large kitchen, the performance is structured around the process of four chefs preparing food for a wedding banquet, using kitchen utensils (pots, spoons, dishes, etc.) to create the content. The sounds produced by these kitchen tools have the explosive power of the original sounds of Samul nori, rhythmic, with a clear melody, and are an art form loved by people of all ages. Since its beginning in October 1997, it has received an enthusiastic response from audiences and has now broken the record for the most box office in Korean performance history. YOUNG Theater was formerly known as Yangpu Grand Theater, located in one of the busiest sections of Kongjiang Road in Yangpu District, built in 1996. The theater has an elegant environment, integrating meetings, movies, performances, and exhibitions, and is one of the iconic performance venues in Yangpu District. With the development of the times, the old Yangpu Grand Theater gradually lost its popularity.
