Shanghai Pudong's hidden classical garden, Guchong Garden

Guchong Garden is located on the bank of the Satellite River in the southwest corner of Huinan Town. It was established in 1982 and covers an area of more than 38,700 square meters. There is a giant bronze bell with a diameter of 1.1 meters, a height of 1.62 meters, and a weight of 1.6 tons, which is a treasure of Nanhui and has been listed as a Shanghai municipal-level key cultural relic for protection. The amusement facilities in the garden are very affordable and suitable for children to play. The ancient bell has now returned to Fuquan Temple, and a replica is placed in the park. The winding paths in the garden are paved with stone slabs and pebbles, and the layout of pavilions, terraces, towers, bridges, roads, ditches, and channels, as well as the overall planning of the greening, present the characteristics of 'blue tiles and white walls, bronze ginkgo trees', which are simple and elegant, quiet and deep. It recreates the style and life interest of the Ming Dynasty gardens and is a replica of a classical garden. The entire garden is divided into four scenic areas: the Bell Pavilion, Wenyuan Pavilion, Zangzhuo Garden, and Baby Village. In addition, there are Panlong Island, Qifeng Platform, Sun Lake, Moon Lake, Jingting, Zhenyi Pool, Guanchao Pavilion, Tingyu Pavilion, Juxiu Hall, Zhenqu Pavilion, and eleven curved river heart bridges, including nine pavilions and seven bridges. Guanchao Pavilion faces east and west, with blue tiles and pink walls, and its design is simple and elegant. It is a two-story antique building with exquisite wood carvings on the doors and windows. In front of it are the undulating Meiling mountains, and behind it is a deep courtyard. Climbing up to the attic, one can overlook the beautiful scenery of the Satellite River. Although the park is not large, it is lush with vegetation and full of birds and flowers. You can take Metro Line 16 to Huinan Station, get off and transfer to bus 1111, and get off at the South Gate Street Station on Satellite West Road.
