Most visitors to the Shanghai Zoo will instinctively turn right after entering the gate and head towards the nearest Amphibian Pavilion, with only a few heading west to visit the Primate Zone first. There's no definitive best route, it all depends on the visitor's interests. If you like large animals, it's recommended that you head west first to see monkeys, herbivores, carnivores, then birds of prey, waterfowl, songbirds and flightless birds, and finally visit the Amphibian Pavilion; if you prefer birds and reptiles, and like lake views, then go the opposite way. You can spend most of your time admiring your favorites. After all, the Shanghai Zoo has a wide variety of animals. The predecessor of Xijiao Park was a golf course built by foreigners. After being nationalized and rebuilt for more than 50 years since 1954, it still maintains some of the original golf course features on its several large lawns with a total area of 100,000 square meters. The ticket price is very reasonable at only 40 yuan per person, and there are all kinds of animals inside, making it very cost-effective! The favorite is the orangutan exhibition area (it must be said that our clever ancestors are really just one step away from evolution...) The red pandas are also super cute. You wouldn't know until you see them, they are mostly sleeping in the trees, one of them looks like it's looking down at humans, so cute~ How to play? Most people will follow the park's instructions, but there are mostly birds and fish near the entrance, which are quite common and time-consuming to visit. Going counterclockwise, you can see large wild animals first, and see the rarer ones first. After a round, you will be tired and it won't be a pity if you can't finish seeing everything.
